Keynote speaker

James Crabtree
Global geopolitical strategist and leading voice on power shifts in Asia and beyond
James Crabtree is a geopolitical analyst focused on great power rivalry, economic statecraft, and the shifting balance of power in Asia. A distinguished visiting fellow at the European Council on Foreign Relations and non-resident fellow at the Asia Society, he advises leaders on US–China competition, geoeconomics, and the strategic impact of emerging technologies on global order.

Euan Munro
Euan brings extensive investment management experience, having served as CEO of both Aviva Investors and Newton Investment Management, and previously as Head of Fixed Interest and Multi-Asset Investing at Standard Life Investments. He currently serves as a Non-Executive Director at Brooks Macdonald.

Patrick Bartholet
Patrick is lead portfolio manager for the AIMS total return fund at Aviva Investors, focusing on cross asset derivatives and systematic strategies. Before joining Aviva in 2018, Patrick had 27 years of sell side derivatives trading experience, the latest as European head of index volatility trading at Société Générale.

Tom Boyle
Tom is lead fund manager for the Uncorrelated Strategies fund at Atlantic House and also manages the firm's multi asset mandates. Alongside his portfolio management responsibilities he leads the product development with asset managers and institutions; building bespoke derivative-based solutions for investors.

With deep expertise in liability-driven investment strategies, he previously held senior LDI roles at AXA Investment Managers and Legal & General, and served as Head of Fixed Income at Ashburton Investments.

This session cuts through the noise surrounding Liquid Alternatives and Alternative Risk Premia to demonstrate what is genuinely achievable in delivering tail risk protection, and at what cost.
We will showcase how our intuitive hedging framework can be used to evaluate and design protection solutions, while being clear on when they are expected to perform, and when they are not.
